Welcome to the Argo Boost Deluxe! It's a two-in-one full-range boost and blendable octafuzz effect for guitar. The boost side – the red knob and right-hand switch – offers a full range boost that does all the things any great boost pedal will do. You can use to lift your clean tone into a clean amp… or you can boost into other pedals or a dirty amp for extra overdrive and distortion… or you could place it after other overdrives for a solo boost lift. You might also just love it as a super simple always-on boost for more oomph, excitement and dynamics in your core tone.
The three white knobs and the left-hand switch add in an octafuzz effect. Originally inspired by the now classic COB fuzz pedal, Zach at Mythos made the fuzz a little more aggressive with some higher-gain transistors and made sure there's a TON of volume on tap. The blend control enables you to have anything from a very subtle amount of octafuzz, through to full-on, fuzzed out octa mayhem. Mick loves the Doyle Bramhall approach, but you can conjure some fantastic Hendrix and Sambora textures too.
Inside is a set-and-forget brightness boost switch for the boost side. This might be useful if you have a darker sounding guitar/amp, or if you just want it brighter! Mick likes it off, but you may well prefer it on.
The pedal is true bypass and runs on 9V centre-negative DC power requiring less than 20mA.
